Job Summary
The Bakery Cake Decorator & Display Specialist plays a key role in elevating the visual appeal and customer experience within the bakery. This role combines artistic cake decorating skills with creative display management to ensure that bakery products not only taste exceptional but also look visually striking and align with the brand’s hospitality standards. The individual will contribute to product finishing, festive displays, and overall presentation, maintaining the bakery’s reputation for premium quality and customer delight.
Key Responsibilities
Cake Decoration & Product Finishing
Design, decorate, and finish cakes, pastries, and desserts with high artistic standards.
Apply advanced decorating techniques (fondant, buttercream piping, chocolate garnishing, sugar art, airbrushing).
Develop innovative themes for birthdays, weddings, corporate events, and seasonal promotions.
Ensure all products are presented consistently in line with brand standards.
Bakery Display & Presentation
Create eye-catching displays for counters, showcases, and seasonal product launches.
Arrange and rotate products on display to maximize visual appeal and reduce wastage.
Collaborate with marketing and store teams to design festive/holiday setups that attract walk-in customers.
Maintain balance between aesthetics, functionality, and hygiene in display areas.
Quality, Hygiene & Hospitality Standards
Adhere strictly to FSSAI/food safety regulations and company hygiene protocols.
Ensure tools, decorating equipment, and display counters are sanitized and well-maintained.
Work closely with the production team to meet customer orders on time with perfection.
Uphold hospitality industry service values: attention to detail, guest delight, and premium presentation.
Qualifications & Educational Background
Preferred Education:
Diploma or Certification in Bakery & Confectionery, Pastry Arts, or Culinary Arts from a reputed institute.
Training in Hospitality Management or F&B Service is an added advantage.
Experience:
1–3 years in bakery cake decorating and product presentation.
Prior experience in hospitality industry setups (5-star hotels, premium cafés, patisseries) will be highly valued.
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong artistic sense with the ability to bring creative ideas to life.
Deep knowledge of cake decorating mediums (fondant, icing, edible prints, toppers).
Expertise in display aesthetics: color coordination, theme alignment, and visual merchandising.
Excellent time management skills to handle multiple orders during peak hours.
Team-oriented approach with strong communication skills.
