The Tandoor Commis I is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting authentic tandoor dishes, ensuring consistency in taste, hygiene, and quality standards. The role requires expertise in operating tandoor equipment and handling Indian breads, kebabs, and curries while maintaining kitchen safety and cleanliness.
Prepare and cook tandoor items including naan, roti, kulcha, kebabs, and other grilled dishes.
Assist in mise-en-place and daily kitchen preparations as per menu and chef’s instructions.
Ensure proper marination, seasoning, and cooking techniques for authentic flavors.
Operate and maintain the tandoor oven, ensuring safety and efficiency.
Maintain hygiene, sanitation, and food safety standards (HACCP compliance).
Monitor food portioning, minimize wastage, and store ingredients properly.
Support the Tandoor Chef / CDP in menu planning and new recipe development.
Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure timely service.
Adhere to company standards, policies, and kitchen SOPs.
