The Commis I – Chinese Cuisine is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting authentic Chinese dishes with consistency and high quality. The role requires strong culinary knowledge of Chinese cooking techniques, flavors, and presentation standards while maintaining hygiene and safety guidelines.
Prepare and cook authentic Chinese dishes such as stir-fries, dim sum, noodles, fried rice, soups, and sauces.
Assist the Chef de Partie (CDP) / Sous Chef in daily kitchen operations.
Ensure all dishes are prepared as per recipe standards, portion control, and presentation guidelines.
Maintain high levels of cleanliness, organization, and hygiene in the kitchen.
Monitor stock, assist in inventory management, and report shortages.
Handle kitchen equipment safely and ensure proper storage of food items.
Follow HACCP and food safety standards at all times.
Train and guide junior staff (Commis II & III) in Chinese cooking techniques.
Work closely with the team to ensure smooth kitchen operations during service.
