Job Title: Bank Cashier

Department: Retail Banking / Branch Operations

Location: AHMEDABAD

Reporting To: Branch Manager / Operations Manager

Job Summary:

The Bank Cashier is responsible for managing cash transactions, handling customer queries, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and internal procedures. This role plays a vital part in delivering excellent customer service and maintaining the daily operations of the branch.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cash Handling & Transactions:

  • Receive and pay out cash over the counter accurately.

  • Process deposits, withdrawals, and transfers.

  • Handle cheque and demand draft transactions.

  • Balance the cash drawer at the beginning and end of the shift.

  • Ensure proper accounting of all transactions.

• Customer Service:

  • Provide efficient, courteous, and prompt service to customers.

  • Answer customer inquiries related to basic banking operations.

  • Assist customers in filling out forms and applications.

• Compliance & Reporting:

  • Adhere to the bank’s policies and RBI guidelines.

  • Detect and report any suspicious or fraudulent activity.

  • Maintain accurate records and submit daily transaction reports.

  • Ensure KYC norms are followed for all cash transactions.

• Operational Support:

  • Coordinate with other departments for smooth functioning.

  • Assist in ATM cash loading and reconciliation.

  • Help with branch closing activities and audits.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, or related field

• 1–2 years of experience in a banking or financial institution (Freshers may also be considered)

• Knowledge of core banking systems is an advantage
