The Cashier is responsible for efficiently handling customer transactions at the checkout counter, maintaining accurate cash registers, and providing excellent customer service in a grocery retail environment.
Greet customers warmly and assist them with checkout procedures.
Accurately scan items, handle cash, card, UPI, and other payments.
Issue receipts, refunds, exchanges, or credits as necessary.
Balance the cash register at the beginning and end of each shift.
Maintain cleanliness and organization at the cash counter.
Assist with bagging groceries and managing queues during busy periods.
Answer customer queries and direct them to the appropriate section.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Report discrepancies, price issues, or customer complaints to the supervisor.
Minimum 10th or 12th pass (Higher Secondary or equivalent).
Prior experience as a cashier or in a retail environment is preferred.
Basic math and computer skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Customer-oriented attitude with patience and professionalism.
Ability to handle transactions quickly and accurately.
