Job Summary:
We are seeking a creative and technically skilled Furniture Designer with a strong background in interior fit-outs and civil construction environments. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in designing custom furniture, modular systems, and detailed joinery work. Proficiency in 2D drafting and 3D modeling tools is a must.
Key Responsibilities:
Design custom furniture, modular wardrobes, kitchens, and other interior elements as per client and project requirements.
Prepare detailed 2D drawings for production and installation using tools like AutoCAD.
Create high-quality 3D visualizations and renders for client presentations using tools like SketchUp, 3ds Max, or similar.
Collaborate with interior designers, project managers, and site teams to ensure designs are practical and executable.
Work closely with vendors, carpenters, and fabricators to translate designs into physical pieces.
Review and revise drawings as per site measurements, material availability, and client feedback.
Maintain a design library of standard furniture modules, materials, and finishes.
Ensure designs are aligned with project budgets, timelines, and technical feasibility.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Diploma/Bachelor’s in Furniture Design, Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
Experience: 2–5 years of experience in furniture design within the interior or civil contracting industry.
Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D), SketchUp, 3ds Max, or similar 3D tools.
Strong understanding of materials (wood, laminates, hardware), construction techniques, and joinery details.
Good sense of aesthetics, ergonomics, and functionality.
Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders and manage design changes.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with modular furniture systems and site execution workflows.
Knowledge of V-Ray, Enscape, or similar rendering engines.
Basic knowledge of production processes, vendor coordination, and BOQ preparation.
