Key responsibilities
Design and modeling: Create and modify 2D and 3D models for products, tooling, and fixtures using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
Technical drawings: Generate precise and accurate technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics for manufacturing.
Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, production staff, and other departments to ensure designs are functional, cost-effective, and manufacturable.
Quality control: Ensure designs adhere to project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Design review and modification: Participate in design reviews, implement necessary modifications based on feedback, and perform feasibility studies.
Documentation: Maintain and organize design files, documentation, and revision history.
Required qualifications and skills
Software proficiency: Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD for 2D drafting and 3D modeling.
Mechanical knowledge: Solid understanding of mechanical design principles, manufacturing processes (like sheet metal fabrication or machining), and materials.
Attention to detail: Excellent attention to detail and the ability to ensure dimensional accuracy.
Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with teams and understand requirements.
Problem-solving: Ability to visualize concepts and solve design challenges.
Education: Typically requires a degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
