Key responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and profit and loss statements.
Cost Accounting: Analyze cost of goods sold, manage inventory, and work on cost decisions related to production.
Reconciliations: Perform and oversee regular account and bank reconciliations, including accounts payable and receivable.
Auditing & Compliance: Support internal and external audits, manage tax filings (e.g., GST, TDS, TCS), and ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulations.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets and forecasts, and analyze variances from budget.
Process Improvement: Review and improve accounting systems and internal controls to enhance efficiency.
Leadership & Mentorship: Supervise junior accounting staff, plan their work, and mentor them in their professional development.
Required skills and qualifications
Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, ideally with a focus on manufacturing.
Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKups and pivot tables.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
Experience with financial statement preparation, general ledger maintenance, and month-end/year-end closing.
Experience with tax compliance and filing (GST, TDS, etc.).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
