Job Summary
The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and assisting with strategic financial planning. This role requires advanced knowledge of accounting principles, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with the finance team to support organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Analyze financial data and present reports to senior management.
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
Prepare and review journal entries.
Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
Analyze budget variances and provide recommendations for improvement.
Prepare and file tax returns and assist with audits.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and analysis.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes and systems.
Manage accounts payable/receivable processes as needed.
Support strategic initiatives, such as cost optimization and system upgrades.
Qualification
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Experience: Minimum of 5–7 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior role.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
Familiarity with ERP systems and financial modelling tools is a plus.
