About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Accountant to manage and oversee financial operations specific to our construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, project costing, and experience working in the construction or real estate development industry.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Maintain accurate and timely financial records for multiple construction projects.

·       Prepare and analyze job cost reports, budgets, and forecasts.

·       Track project budgets, expenditures, and commitments to ensure alignment with contracts and change orders.

·       Process accounts payable and receivable specific to project billing and subcontractor payments.

·       Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements.

·       Support month-end and year-end closing processes.

·       Collaborate with project managers to provide financial insights and cost controls.

·       Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial and tax regulations.

·       Prepare and file sales/use tax returns as applicable.

·       Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for stakeholders.

·       Manage payroll data and allocations related to construction labour.

Accounting & Finance:

·       Maintain accurate books of accounts using accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks).

·       Handle accounts payable/receivable and bank reconciliations.

·       Prepare monthly financial reports, cash flow statements, and MIS reports.

·       Assist in budgeting and cost control for projects.

·       Manage statutory compliance such as GST, TDS, PF, and ESI filings.

·       Coordinate with external auditors and CA for audits and year-end processes.

·       Maintain records for purchases, vendor payments, and site expenses.

Qualifications and Skills:

·       1+ years of accounting experience in the construction industry or project-based accounting.

·        Experience working with general contractors or subcontractors.
