The Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial records, transactions, and reporting for a real estate office. This role ensures accuracy in financial documentation and compliance with regulatory requirements, while also supporting the team with timely and insightful financial analysis.
Maintain and update general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
Track income and expenses related to property sales, rentals, and management.
Reconcile bank accounts and monitor cash flow.
Manage invoicing, billing, and collections for clients and vendors.
Assist in budget preparation and variance analysis.
Ensure compliance with tax laws, licensing, and local regulations.
Process payroll and related records, including commissions for agents.
Coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants as needed.
Support property management team with rent roll reports and lease tracking.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2+ years of accounting experience (real estate industry preferred).
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Yardi, Buildium).
Strong understanding of real estate transactions and commission structures.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Knowledge of local real estate financial regulations and tax implications.
Experience with CRM and real estate management platforms.
Strong communication and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
