Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our Finance team, with a primary focus on statutory compliance. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring adherence to all statutory requirements, managing tax filings, and handling regulatory compliance tasks for the company. The role requires strong accounting knowledge, familiarity with local laws, and the ability to work independently to maintain compliance in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Statutory Compliance Management:

   • Ensure compliance with local, state, and national statutory requirements related to accounting, taxation, and reporting.

   • Prepare and file statutory returns, including GST, VAT, Income Tax, and other government filings.

   • Monitor regulatory changes to ensure the company’s compliance with new and evolving laws.

2. Tax Compliance and Reporting:

   • Coordinate with tax consultants to ensure the timely and accurate filing of tax returns.

   • Review and validate tax-related information, ensuring proper reconciliation of tax provisions.

   • Prepare necessary documentation for audits, including tax audits, VAT audits, and statutory audits.

3. Audit Coordination:

   • Assist in the preparation and coordination of statutory and internal audits.

   • Work closely with external auditors to provide necessary documentation and resolve any queries.

   • Ensure timely submission of audited financial statements.

4. Financial Reporting:

   • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards.

   • Provide analysis and reports on statutory compliance matters to senior management.

5. Regulatory Filings and Updates:

   • Ensure the timely submission of all regulatory filings and forms as per statutory deadlines.

   • Keep abreast of changes in statutory laws and ensure updates to accounting practices as required.

6. Internal Controls and Documentation:

   • Develop and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.

   • Maintain accurate and organized records of all statutory filings and tax documents.

7. Advisory and Support:

   • Provide support and guidance to other departments on statutory compliance matters.

   • Act as a point of contact for statutory and regulatory inquiries from government agencies.
