Job Title : Information Retrieval Officer
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Execute comprehensive information searches across diverse internal and external data sources, including proprietary databases, public records, academic journals, and the internet.
2. Analyze, evaluate, and synthesize retrieved information to ensure accuracy, relevance, and completeness for specific user requests.
3. Develop, refine, and implement advanced search strategies and methodologies to optimize retrieval efficiency and effectiveness.
4. Maintain, organize, and update information databases and knowledge management systems to facilitate easy access and future retrieval.
5. Respond to information requests from various departments and stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.
6. Educate and assist users in effectively utilizing information retrieval tools and resources.
7. Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations, intellectual property rights, and information security policies.
8. Stay current with emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in information retrieval, knowledge management, and data analytics.
9. Contribute to the development and improvement of information retrieval processes and tools.
Requirements
1. Proven experience in a dedicated information retrieval, research, or data analysis role.
2. Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing a wide range of search engines, online databases, content management systems, and specialized research tools.
3. Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving abilities with a keen eye for detail.
4. Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting complex information clearly and concisely.
5. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines in a fast paced environment.
6. Solid understanding of data governance, information security, and confidentiality principles.
7. A high degree of accuracy and commitment to delivering reliable information.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Information Science, Computer Science, Data Science, or a closely related field.
2. A Master's degree in a relevant discipline is highly preferred.
3. Professional certifications in information management, knowledge management, or data analytics are advantageous.
4. Experience with specialized domain specific databases or research tools relevant to the industry is a plus.
